Todd Snider
Peace Queer
Aimless Records [2008]
Fire Drills Review:
Todd Snider has been around for quite some time now and has consistently released solid roots rock straight out of Nashville. Peace Queer is really an eight song mini album that clocks in at twenty-six minutes and has some solid rockers like "Stuck On The Corner [Prelude To A Heart Attack]" and a very haunting acoustic read along version of CCR's "Fortunate Son" with Patty Griffin backing up the chorus. What makes Peace Queer so appealing is that it is not a protest album but something released to just ease Snider's mind. This artistic freedom makes for an intriguing listen of his free flowing smart lyrics sound better with every spin.
Key Track: "Fortunate Son"
Band With Similar Fire: Will Kimbrough
