The Postmarks: By-The-Numbers

Fire Drills Says:
Following up your critically successful debut with a cover album seems a bit risky even if it started out as a way to kill time and given away for free on eMusic (at least for 9 months). The group then wised up and realized they had something a bit more special and that is how we now have a full album. Cleverly each track from one to eleven has the number in its title and on number 12 "Pinball Number Drop", which was originally sung by the Pointer Sisters for Sesame Street, kicks off with a 1-12 countdown. Number gimmicks aside, The Postmarks are a very talented new band that simply shines while they reconstruct songs from Jesus & Mary Chain, Blondie, Bowie, and the Ramones into their own hush female vocal stylistic mood pop!

Key Track: "You Only Live Twice"

Band With Similar Fire: Stereolab
