Rogue Motel: Daylight Breaking

Rogue Motel
Daylight Breaking
Self-Released [2008]

Fire Drills Review:
Rogue Motel have a sound that seems familiar and is best described as throwing The Jayhawks, Crowded House, R.E.M. and Live into a mixing pot and pulling out this Portland fivesome. Lead vocalist Matthew Kendall has that catchy nasal vocal style that emphasizes the highs and lows of each track, which draws the listener into each verse and keeps their focus. Rogue Motel is pretty straightforward on their song structures but as a band they are musically tight and you can tell they put 110% effort into each track. All of this leads to Daylight Breaking being an enjoyable listen that is worthy of hitting repeat.

Key Track: "Hurry Up"

Band With Similar Fire: Live
