Sin Fang Bous: Advent In Ives Garden

Sin Fang Bous
Advent In Ives Garden
Morr Music [2009]

Fire Drills Review:
Sin Fang Bous offer up a nice collection of 12 songs that stylistically fall into a hush indie pop category sprinkled with some background blips, beeps and keyboard. The catchiness of each track starts and stops with singer/songwriter Sindri Már Sigfússon. His voice is soft like Sufjan Stevens but he is able to combine his harmonies to mirror the layered pop of the Fleet Foxes. Sigfússon has a unique ability to keep the electronic pieces of his music more hidden and used as a backdrop instead of a constant so that they enhance the music and don't detract from it. The balance of this mix and the memorable harmonies make repeat listens of Advent In Ives Garden a solid return of time investment and Sin Fang Bous an obscure band to share with your "cool" friends!
