Chemical Chords
4AD Records [2008]
Fire Drill Review:
Stereolab have been releasing albums since about 1992 so it is always an enjoyment to pop in a new record from the masters of sixties art pop. Chemical Chords finds the band in a better place emotionally since their last album of all new material was Margerine Eclipse [2004], which was the first since the passing of longtime member Mary Hansen. Time always helps heal and on Chemical Chords the band returns to a more lighthearted sound, which is the reason this album is so infectious, warm and comfortable!
