The Submarines: Honeysuckle Weeks

The Submarines
Honeysuckle Weeks
Nettwork Records [2008]

Fire Drills Review:

They say failed relationships make us stronger and after The Submarines debut record Declare A New State! [2006] was written during the break up of couple Blake Hazard and John Dragonetti (Jack Drag) you might say that statement is correct based on its success. They then patched the relationship and now have entered harmonious marriage, which clearly put them in a different mind set for their sophomore record Honeysuckle Weeks. The better side of things actually drives this record in a good direction and The Submarines are the queen and king of making a three minute pop song stick. Honeysuckle Weeks is the perfect length coming in just over 3o minutes and never wears out its welcome plus "You Me And The Bourgeoisie" is now featured in an iPhone ad, so don't be surprised to hear more from this duo.

Key Track: "You Me And The Bourgeoisie"
