The music that comes from Canada these days is just plain stirring. Toronto's Ten Kens backs this statement up with a driving debut album that is filled with reverb guitars, quick distinctive tempo changes, and a grinding it out vocal delivery from singer Dan Workman. Ten Kens is somewhat dark and ruff sounding, which in this case gives each song a contained energy waiting to burst and when it does the noise assault has a swagger and melodic attack that immediately makes you take notice!
